My carb is messed up, needs a rebuild and needs an aftermarket cap when i took the tors off i ran out of money for it ($60 fix i dont have funds for).....

I was offered a stock carb with the tors on top, will that work if i leave the tors on it but not hooked up, will my twist throttle hook up to it? or would i need a thumb setup also?

I was offered a good pile of parts i need with that carb "said to be good and no leaks" included in the parts lot for a trade i have, but if my bike still wont run with this carb then forget the deal its not worth it to me.... But its well worth it if i can run my bike with this carb!!

um... gee, that sounds like a bummer man,,

all i can say is that the carb with TORS on top will still work fine without any of the wires connected, and that the cable is not the same for a TORS and non TORS setup. If you think back, with TORS the cable goes to a lever, not directly to the carb slide. so probably stock thumby and a carb with the TORS on.. and if you trade anything, make sure u keep your jets and ur needle!

awesome thats what i figured, he said he had a thumb setup with it so thats ok as long as it still works, they have an idle control on them right cause his is stock and mine was drilled for it..... (i never had a tors when i got my bike thats why im asking).... I:I

darn.. well, u can try asking the people that you know have a different carb on their blaster now? i mean, the forum is sort of a community, so if theres someone you know, it could be worth asking then to borrow it? i dont know, there are bound to be people in NY state with a spare stock carb.. look online tho.. I think you can get a new OKO 28mm for about 50$.. its a knock off the Keihin, but may be an option worth considering..

You can leave the tors on the carb, mine still has it. Also you can switch to a twist throttle, you will have to get a different throttle cable, but if you are buying a kit then it should come with one. Just take the back side off of the tors and you will see where the throttle cable hooks into the carb, took me like 15minutes to switch from a twist throttle back to a thumb, but I took the wrong side plate off of the tors the first time.

Good Luck
