I know I had a thread on this before but I can't find it.I was told a 28-30.I just wanted to know if going with the 30 would hurt my low to mid.I would like to go with the 28 but don't know if I would even fell an inprovment in power.

I noticed a big improvement in power with my PWK28, but more importantly the throttle response is very crisp. Night and Day vs a stocker. There isn't a big diff between a 28 or 30. Either would be fine for a relatively stock motor.

THREAD JAKERS.LOL.The only mod's that I have are an FMF pipe,DG silencer,V3's.Would A 34 be to big for my motor?OH.And a K&N air filter.

the design of a carb is just as important as the size, i'm not gonna start a fight and list brands or models but even replacing the stocker with a more advanced designed 26mm would yield some gain, prolly not much but with a better design and more tunability your gonna gain performance, my mods are in my sig and i run a 30mm mikuni vm round slide, not the most advanced or finest tunable carb out there but a nice easy to jet medium in my book, also look into the future, if you gonna get a port job or some more mods pretty quick why not go with a 32mm and then your not going to have to upgrade right away and lose money selling a lightly used carb, yet you could still tune it for now, if your good at tuning your carb from bottom to top then your not gonna get hurt going a little bigger, especially in the long run, hope i helped

i ran a 34mm pj on a ported stock stroke motor and it ran like a champ......a big diffrence over stock

im gonna buy a new keihin 34, but i need to choose the jets for it..

: s

what were you running? or rather, i want to get a range of about 10 mains and 3 pilots, and 3 or 4 needles, but where should i start?? what should i use as my middle of the road main?

any idea as to what needle you had on your 34 PJ??

thanks for the 42 pilot, n 145 main info tho.. im gonna get some mains ranging from 130 to 160, and then pilots 38 to 44 or 45.. just need to find something about the needles.. i hate waiting for stuff in the mail... i just end up drilling out a small main jet im never going to use and then inserting wires to gradually block it of untill it runs perfect..

yeah.. you know where this is going.. another question...

When you installed your PJ 34, did you have to modify the original intake boot or does it slide right in where the stock carb goes? or do i need to get a bigger boot?

thanks loads for all ur info

The PJ 34 will require a larger boot/intake...
