Sorry, i am a newb to building a blaster. we are in a class that is 200cc max. We are gonna port and polish the motor with stock bore and stroke. Putting a new wiseco piston in it and wondering which carb to go with?????
Is a 35mm airstriker too much should I go with a 33pwk instead?
I can get either from our sponsor for about the same price. Dont want to over carb the motor. I need to know something before Monday, have to get parts on the wafor new season....
Thanks for any help

sounds cool man, u should show us what u got going, as for the carb, an oko 30mm will do nicely, but i think the airstiker is overkill, dont know much about the 33mil

what type or racing your doing also plays a part in deciding carb size, if your running tight tracks, a smaller carb will give more bottom/ mid power..

if its mostly wide open racing 34-36 will be what you want.. if its a mix of tight and top end style racing 28-32 will do what you need just fine

Hoping for someone like Ken Oconner to post or the kennedy builders....
This engine will be high compression and ported well.
ALso what is a good compression to stay with on a motor like this. We ran 210psi on our little 100cc 2stroke mini quads with no problems and awesome holeshots or low end torque....
Again I am a newbie to blasters as my son is moving up and we are building one from a stock new 2006.
It will have +4+1 custom made arms by a builder in Oregon called ChassisIncFab.com who is a sponsor.
Elka stage 4 front shocks and PEP rear built and serviced by Blommel Motorsports.com.
I will post pics when it is done, after Christmas....

will be mx on a supercross type track, longest strait will be 150yds tops with 2 table tops in between

another thought too...

if you have the faith in your builder to do the porting and produce the power, why not take his advice on carb size?

porting a motor is done by degrees on a wheel. He thought the 35 was too big as well. He built my mini quad motors and is also new to blasters, so I am asking here to make a good decision. All the mini quad builders locally ran about 160-185 psi we ran 210 and the motor was reliable and took its fair share of holeshots. It would have won the championship had the chain not came off in a moto. I believe in compression on a 2stroke bfore advanced timing. That is how we got bottom. My builder builds the motor, I do everything else. We work together. Thank you for any help. By this time next year I will be like you guys and answering questions on this forum. If you wanna know about 2stroke mini quads just ask....lol

perhaps oconnor will chime in here with his advice as well, but i don't think that 33-35 is going to be where you wanna be

lose the spacer, unless needed for carb/clutch arm clearence,
get the 33pwk,
i'm gonna go out on a limb and say ... stay away from the oko's
(after seeing slickerthanyou's chrome peeling off the slide)
and ken oconnor builds most of his motors for around 160psi compression for 93/94 octane pump gas, you can go higher but will need at least a mix of 93 and 110 octane race fuel

will be running 110octane with amsoil dominator oil mixed 40:1
I like the info I am seeing, please keep it coming.
gonna make a happy 12yr old on Christmas morning....

the amsoil dominator calls for 50:1, right on the bottle and straight in an email from amsoil themselves, running the oil/fuel mix rich will lean the fuel/air mix ?????
run the oil at the suggested ratio for that particular oil
someone correct me if i'm wrong

and as far as i've seen, 175/185 is the highest compression i've ever seen listed for a blaster motor ???

sorry, hate to say it but you are wrong, Dominator oil is actually made to run 100:1 as it says on the gallon jugs I buy...
I know some guys run it 50:1 I have always ran it 40:1 just for preference and our mini quads ripped. Would rather foul a plug than scoar a cylinder

yes, the lower the first number, the leaner the mix actually is

the jets will allow an amount of fuel/oil mix in. it doesn't know how much of each is there, the same total volume goes in, so if you add more oil, you effectively reduce the amount of fuel that can go in
