My 12 year old son just bought a 97 Blaster 2 Stroke and can't get it started,... I did a bunch of troubleshooting with my brother Mr. 4Stroke and pretty much we're not getting any fuel in the carburator.
Interesting pt where I'm at, I unscrewed the drain plug on the bottom of the carb and only a little bit of gas came out and stopped. So I took the carb off, the bottom float chamber off and found a lot of gritty sand in there, I popped off the valve seat and needle valve from the float assembly(may have broken it) but put it all back together and now if the gas valve is on, the drain valve closed it still spills gas out the back line....as if the drain valve is not sealing. I took the drain valve out and the tip is severely chipped at the end. My biggest worry is that somehow with me popping that needle valve across the garage, and now it all seems pretty free to spin in the valve seat like it didn't do before, that somehow I'm overflowing the carburator with gas.
So is there some sort of overflow drain in the carb?
is the overflow bypassed around the drain screw?
The drain plug should seal no matter what right?
And where would the gravity fed gas go if one had a fully open needle valve and it was overflowing....fill the whole bottom section and start coming the instake and exhaust?
Thanks a lot guys.
