hey guys i was thinking about buying the la sleeve 240 kit and it reccommends a new 36pwk carb and i was wondering if i need this and is there any cheaper suggestions like jets?

To my knowledge these kits are out of stock. You will need a larger carb like they say because this is the mac daddy of bbkits. Jets are used to tune the carb so not much to skimp out on there.

try a Keihin PJ 34

it comes with the jets for a TRX250R already installed..

I run that and ive defaulted to using those jets even tho i bought a bucket full of other jets and needles to get it dialed in..

you should be able to get on on E**Y for about 150$ +20$ shipping.
just check its the replacement for the TRX250R n otherwise if you still need jets, they go for about 5$ a piece on E**Y (ebay)

Alright, first few questions before you just go grab any old carb.

They are recommending a 36mm.. so.. based on some loose calculations, your going to be running between 9k-10k rpm. What is your pipe going for?

Before making a choice on the carb, figure out what rpm your peak power is going to be at.

Here are some suggestions for a 240kit
32mm carb for 8254rpm
34mm carb for 8817
36mm carb for 9334
38mm carb for 9863
39mm carb for 10121

These are based off of rpm vs displacement. Actual flow rates depend on your porting/reeds/pipe. These should be very close to what carbs you need at what RPM.

My choice of carbs go in this order; PWK(air striker), TMX, PJ, then round slides go here.

I've got a 38mm PJ if you need one , I have a 35mm air striker for the banshee so the PJ can go by by . I know this isn't the for sale section , but It will be up there today or tomorrow anyways $100.00 shipped .

That carburetor would work wonderfully. It may not give you the absolute higher horsepower number (rubbersalt be easy with those suggestions of HUGE carburetors, some people still like to ride trails and stuff) but you will have copious amounts of available torque with that carburetor.

I have a vito's 240 BBK and I'm running a standard PWK35 (the air stryker version has modifications to aid low end power) and it hauls the mail.
