Ive got an 88 blaster, its bored to 67.50.
Since it got it, it hasnt really ran up very strong.
I put a new plug in and mixed new gas and cleaned the carb but still not good.
I was at work one day and my buddy put his carb on my blaster from his 03 blaster and he said it ripped! it would run circles around his!
Hes had his longer and knows a bit more than me but we both dont really know very much about adjusting a carburetor to get it running good.
I have a 310 jet in my carb, and i dont have the tors, and i mix my own fuel. And when i leave my gas on, it leaks really bad, and i think thats my float adjustment right? but how do i adjust it. I cant even pick the front tires off the ground if i try! but I dont know where to even start with adjusting anything on my carb and it seems to be the main culprit since it made such a difference when another carb was put on.

besides your carb troubles, your other thread explains a little......a leaking head gasket due to that stripped head bolt needs to be fixed, a new head gasket fitted, and leakdown tested before any jetting can be done.
i've never played with inserts, so can't help ya there.

what mods do you have that requires a 310 main jet ?

as for the carb, this is the road to a perfectly running blaster, in this order ..........

the engine must be leakproof and proven so before any jetting can be done....

is a leakdown test the same as a compression test? I was hoping just a longer bolt and some a tiny bit of HIGH temp rtv would do me good for that at least for now. maybe just the longer bolt depending.

And i think the only mods i have are that its bored over to 67.5, no tors and the air box cover is off and i mix my own gas? Its still pretty new to me so idk if much else has been done to it. is 310 too big? should i get a smaller one? it had a 230 in it.

the airbox lid off and the mixed fuel require at least a 250 main jet (plug chop link posted above)
310 is way too big for a properly sealed engine with your mods
you need to fix the stripped stud properly (longer bolt and rtv is not it)
new head gasket
then leakdown test (different than compression test, read the links i posted above)
and then plug chop for main jet sizing.

there is no band-aid for your troubles.
