I just bought a 04 whith some work to do to make work properly:)
I want to pull the motor off but the swingarm axle didn't want to came off, when the nut and washer were removed the axle didn't want to turn on either side so I heated up the swingarm the motor and the right bracket of the frame, then I could turn the axle but it didn't turn freely:-[
I use a hammer with the nut on the shaft end but nothing happendX(
Now I need some clue because I don't know what to do with this f...n
axleX(X(X(

DON'T put the nut on there!! I did and banged on it and messed up the nut. If you look at the big bolt you'll notice that it's tapered at the very end so you can bang on it without messing up the threads.

Just pull the nut off and bang on the bolt with a 5lb sledge hammer, that will make it budge! Then get a large screw driver or punch or something and use it and the hammer to push the bolt the rest of the way through.

I've try all of the above but still no reslut , some guy tell me to cut the axle between the frame mount and the swingarm . He said that the bushings are seize on the shaft .
Do you have another way to go ? Count on me to put lot of grease when I will put it togheter ,... in the future

you need more heat ....at this pont order a new bolt and get a 10lb sledge and have at it ....but use an 1/2 extension and socket to keep away from the motor and nail that sucka

i lay the bike over on it's side, to relieve the weight off of the swinger, Pb Blaster both sides the night before, heat up both sides, get it turning with a big ratchet,
solid block of wood on the thread end, preferably oak, and wail on it with a BFH

When it starts to let go and move, squirt some more pb blaster on both ends, and belt it back in.

Do this a few times until it frees up and can be removed, I have known these little beggars to hold on like grim death, until the very end.

The sleeves for the swinger brg get rusted to the bolt. Like said above, when you get it to move a little, more PB Blaster and keep working it in and out with more PB. Cutting bolt is the very last resort. I would suggest antiseize instead of grease for sleeve on shaft.

I have a sprocket hub that won't budge even heating it dark red and using a puller. I gave up )for now) and just bought a complete axle/carrier, all I wanted to do was put new brgs and a grease zerk in

Big ass 1/2 drive impact pb rust buster and let the impact do the work keep lubing it and once its moving freely from the impact itll at the least tap out. Both of mine were seized up and rusted so bad i didnt think id get them but this way worked.

If theyre really seized good heat the piss out of the bolt and immediately spray pb rust blaster in to it and the heat will further pull the stuff in as it cools.

For reassembling spend the extra money on "GREEN" grease its got a 3 month warranty to not come off and i use it on everything its the best.

But at the least use quality synthetic wheel bearing grease and dont be shy with it the excess will wipe off.
