depends on the mods you have done to the bike, i had a 300 in mine but others have upwards of 330- 350
mikuni makes hex up to like 600 if i'm not mistaken, if your having to go wild rich for no real apparent reason i'd start looking for a problem, what do you have done and how rich are you now? get specific
i currently run a 340.. i would say your probably have an air leak somewhere.. make sure the gasket on the case didn't blow out anywhere, check the bolts on the intake side and make sure the cylinder bolts are tight. then start checking the rubber boots on the carb for tears, pinholes or pinches. it sounds like an air problem for sure.
thats what i wanted to know , how big they went up to. ive put a 240 ported jug on with stock carb and open box my low and mid are fine im runnin a 330 in it but to lean ill go to 400 and start there plug is almost white with 330 think i should start bigger then 400. iwas gonna get three like 430 400 280 and go from there. i know i need a bigger carb but im a poor f**cker and cheap makes the beast. vforce two reeds billet intake. stock crank, thats next. ill take all the advise i can get bros thanks
try the 400 and see what happens, then you can get a feel for if you need to buy a few smaller or a few bigger.

ok i went as far as a 440 and still lean no air leaks but i found a dealer who sells mukuni carbs and purchased a 34mm mukuni carb brand new for 106.00 dollars ill have it in 3 days then ill start over
