I tried taking my carb off for the first time and got stuck with it. I got as far as removing the clips that hold air intake and the manifold and i got the gas line off. There was a black tube in the back of the carb that lookedl ike it was going down into where the transmission is, i couldnt get that one off. and also i unscrewed the top part but stoped there once i saw the spring inside, i didnt wanna mess around any further so i screwed it back on. I also couldnt get my float bowl off, i took off the 4 screws but it wouldnt come loose. If anyone can help i would really appreciate it. Thanks

the rubber hose are just stiff use a little more force to remove the bowl and the hoses..
the top with the sprig just pull the whole slide out you wont mess anything up..

but when putting the cap and spring back on it only goes in one way!!! there is a groove in the slide(thing on bottom of spring) and if u look down in the carb u will see a lil tit stickin out. these MUST line up..and yea like stated ...more force....tap the float bowl with a screw driver handle..it will come off. can i ask y u are taking ALL this off any way??

im taking it off because i wanna clean it, it hasnt been started in over 2 years and i dont think the carb has been cleaned before. I put all fresh oil and gas and spark plug in it yesterday and i could only get it idle for like 10 seconds then it dies. so i figure its gotta be the carb thats the problem. Let me know what you think.

and how hard can i tap the bowl to get it off..it seemed really stuck on there and i dont wanna break anything

just tap the bowl till it comes loose....if to try to knock it off sideways U WILL damage the float and over flow tube.after the 4 screws are removed there is only grim and an old gasket holding it on...IF it only fires up and dies u may need to remove the pet weiner on the taNK. there is a screen filter on there that might also be gummed up....

sorry about that message i wasnt sure if my reply went thru....when i drained the tank out..the gas was flowing fine through the tube...what is that black tube in the back? and should i just take carb off and leave the top screw part on the quad? or should i just try cleaning out the float bowl and not mess around with the top part

if it has set for 2 years with gas in it u need to go through the whole carb....there are only 4 hoses on the carb. one from tank one short one on each side and one at the bottom on very back. that last one is to drain the carb. there are 2 jets. one is located right in the center of the plastic peice, u will see when u get bowl off.remove with flat head clean passage with carb cleaner and jet. the pilot jet is in front of this towardds engine.u cant see it however...it is a lil smaller and located up in the passage. look up in the hole and u will see....remove and clean...make sure needle and seat are moving freely....clean accordingly...there is a mixture adjustment on side of carb count how many turns it takes to turn it all the way in....the back all the way out..remember the turns because u will have to rest this later..clean that passage.... oh and yea there is a small tube that is for the oil injector on the right side of carb....this leads to oil resivoir...make sure it isnt clogged or engine is toast...reassemble and u should be fine.....hope the book helps :)

you carb is probably dirty as sh*t as biotch said, lol, sorry thats funny to say, also make sure your reeds are good too, those will def I love you up, it did mine when they were broke, make sure your pilot and main jet are clean too, they can get clogged also, all in all your carb should be as good as new if you clean it well and get the flow back in her, another thing is soak everything in a diesel kerosene mixture if you can that sh*t will ungunk NETHING!

that tube that goes from the carb down to the transmission is your oil line...the pump is in the right side case...its held on to the carb by a little brass comprression fitting..make sure you bleed that line when you get everything back togther.. dont want air in that line.

Is there a trick to getting that line off? it was really stuck on there and also how do i bleed the line?

yes there is a lil brass fitting that slips on the end by the carb. it is damn near impossible to pull it off over the nipple without slidding that brass sleeve..if i was you i would do away with the oil injector... it is a accident waiting to happen. we could argue this fact but i do have experience with this...just premix ur gas from now on...unless u are running a stock engine get rid of that thing..do away with the injector...there are alot or different ways to do it,get the kit or pull the gear off back of pumpp..plug hole on carb and mix 32:1...

hey 2 smoker...do u have any vids of ur bike running with the 34mm carb?? i am just interested to see how it runs..thanks

not at the moment but i will after this weekend, it f*cking hits hard, you know how the bigger carb is, its kinda laggish for like a mili second and then it hits and BAM! you are already in like 3rd, its awesome, highly reccoment it.I:I

The reason i stopped riding it was because that f*ckin oil light kept coming on so i figured there was a clog in there or something...so i just premixed it at like 40:1 just to make sure the engine is getting oil....why would that line be coming out of the transmission and not the oil reservoir in the back?

the light that came on was not because the oil wasn't going into the bike, the resevoir in the back was low, thats what the light is for. and don't mix 40:1 it is best to run 32:1

THE line coming out of top of case is a line for the case to breath....thius line should be ran up hi some place under the bars. it is thicker than the oil line....
