cant get into neutral

clutch not disengaging enough and slipping past it? about the only thing you can do short of tearing into it and checking it out would be checking the fluid level, over full can cause some wierd stuff, or adjust your clutch and see it that helps, other wise your looking at a situation that your gonna need to tear into to fix either way, maybe i'm over looking something........second opinions???

its just weird because it goes into neutral with ease when its not running but when its running it skips over it and its hard to shift up. the level of the oil looks good but i can always try that because its easy. i have this gear oil thats sae 75w-90 would that work in it or is that too thick?

yeah thats a little thick for trans oil.. unless its 120 degrees out... 10-40 15-40 20-40 or 0-40 is what you should run.. that thick might be making your plates stick and drag which is causing it to not want to go into nutral

oh no i didnt put that in there yet. i just bought it 2 weeks ago and i am just working on it before taking it out. what kind of oil do you recommend? anything i can buy at autozone or wal mart or do i have to go to a shop?

I run Pensoil 10w40 (what the manual calls for) in all my machines and change it after every ride. Some guys use ATF also.

The one thing I suggest you stay away from is automotive synthetic motor oils. They will cause your clutch to slip. As it has no friction modifier in it.

honestly.... iv used the valvoline 4 stroke motorcycle oil in wheelers before... valvoline is good 4 stroke oil... i just wouldnt buy cheap 2 stroke oil

yeah when i drained it the oil was so thick it was crazy lol but this stuff is a lot better. how often should i change it? i didnt really take care of my old blaster when i was younger so i dont even remember changing it, but this one im trying to take care of haha

it use to happen to me and i did the follo and now my clutch is like butter...

change clutch wire, b4 put the new 1, i over oiled or greased the wire, then put it really exact, adjust and now is really good!

besides that, i often do a gear oil change, no matter if i use my quad or not, like 4-5 times per year i change it (it doesnt worth much the oil bottle and it helps prevent) i also use a random air filter so i change that same time i change gear oil...

hope it helps u for the future...

PS: Gear oil bottle 15bucks
Soft mechanic clutch workin fine 15bucks
break ur gear box, worthless ??? jaja

its personal preferance on how offen to change the oil... some guys are anal and change it every 5 hours, 10 hours... every 5 rides every 10 rides... id change it 2-3 times a year dependin on how much you ride

I am one of the anal guys I guess LOL.

I change my gear box oil after every day I ride. IMO its just cheap insurance......
