ill start off by telling you my situation. . .both my quads have engine problems right now so i cant have any fun in the snow. my blasty is in my shop in my school [im an automotive tech student at a vocational school] it has a airleak im guessing. [but i could be wrong]

what its doing is itll start but as soon as you hit the gas it redlines and wont come down to idle.

ive put all new top end gaskets in and rebuilt the carb plenty of times . . . now im on vacation and its still there so i cant work on it. im thinking its a bad stator side crank seal but im not sure and dont want to buy the new seals and flywheel puller to find out it isnt what i need . . . can you guys help me out?

Could you run it and with the rear plastic and air filter and boot removed look in the carb and see if the slide is actually hanging up?

Do you have a friend with a blaster, maybe you can try their carb and see if the problem goes away?

As for pulling the flywheel, with the puller tool it's not that hard. If I remember right you just pull the cover, remove the nut (best done with a air impact) and then thread the big outer part of the puller into the flywheel and then as you screw the inner part in it will press the flywheel off.

the slide isnt hanging up but i want to be completely sure that its a crank seal before i irder the puller [im very limited on money]

if you replace the seals and that dont solve it at least u have new seals. id put my money on it and say thats the issue. they are easy to replace. ive fixed many lawnboys with this issue. just order the seal kit and replace everything. maybe if ur lucky u can modify a jaw puller to fit in there. goodluck

If it revs up like u say, what happens once U shift it in gear with the clutch pulled in and use the rear brake and let the clutch out slow to slow down the motor?
It sounds like a throttle slide hang up
More info you have the more help we can be

what your jetting my carb did that once see if a two stroke is to lean it will rev cazy and the not want to stop it know (as a run away) mine just did it like 3 days ago because of bad jetting but ever one on her has a good point make sure the carb is not hanging up clean the carb and oil the cables and go from there a air leak would just make it run rich when it flys in to the rpm like that look and see what color the plug is hope this helps :o

you all so need to see if it spring back when its running the pull of air and gas some time can hold a carb open if the spring if not strong
