Can I get away with this?

I tore down my second engine this past week because the last engine I got ahold of, the cases were cracked. This one I tore down and am good to go. Hopefully taking it to my buddys dad to get the cases trenched for the hotrods stroker crank. He is also going to take care of boring the cylinder. Heres what is planned.

New bearings all around
Hotrods +4mm Stroker
Ported cyl head ~ 68mm for the stoker crank.

I also have a 35mm pwk air striker carb and would love to be able to use it. Obviously I can bolt it up, but i'm clueless when it comes to carb jetting. Can i jet it properly for this setup or am I stuck using the stock carb?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

I wasn't sure if the carb was too big for the setup I plan to run. I've changed the jets in the stock carb before so im not so much worried about that. However when it comes to what size jets to use on this size carb I have no idea is what I ment to say. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the help guys! Just want to make sure this looks right to you guys. Also, with guys that normally run this type setup, do they need a spacer because of the carb size? Lol, and have a few more questions for you about reeds.

This is what I think it should look like (I have a box full of different air filters / boxes/ etc but this makes the most sense.)

Next... about the reeds. This set of vforce 3 reeds was on the quad to start with so I disassembled it to get the junk out of it. Cleaned up the fins and reassembled it. The fins fit much tighter now than before because junk had somehow managed to get in behind the fin and the block. However! Im not sure how tight the fins are supposed to be to the block. To the eye they look good imho, but I hit it with a high powered led flashlight. To me the gap looks over exagerated with the led light, expecially since it is really bright. Bottom line, is there an allowable gap at all?

Thanks again for the help thus far :)

where did you get the metal tubing for the aircleaner???

My buddy who used to race blasters had a big lot of stuff. He got out of it a few years ago and when I called him up to see if he had some parts he told me he would sell me everything he had left. This included a ton of parts, this intake boot to air filter happend to be one of them. There is also a uni filter that fits stock, and also two uni tube style filter intakes that also have prefilters. The K&N seemed to look the best and im hoping this will fit perfectly into the stock box. I need to get my engine together first and go from there. But to answer your question, I haven't a clue. I bought the stuff to help him out since I do have a blaster still, and yeah... no clue man. sorry

So does anyone have an answer on the reeds, and if the intake boot to air filter setup looks correct? For those running keihin 35mm airstrikers, did you need a spacer?

TIA,
Greg

if you hae a uni filter i would clean it up and run it instead of the k&n. as far as the reeds go im not sure but....try a search for reeds and im sure you'll get your answer

Any reason why and oiled foam is better than an oiled gause? Oil is still doing the capturing correct? Just trying to learn.

the k&n will let particles through that a uni will not....could be the difference between a blown engine and riding the rest of the day
