Hello I just rebuild my top end and its running good cept i keep having to add oil to the trans. Its not leaking anywhere cause theres no oil on my shop floor. I didnt take the cylinder off to see if there is any in the bottom end though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

your tranny should hold around .70 of a quart. if you drive it then stop and check it it will seem low because there's oil still stuck to the gears and case walls and will take a little time for it to collect back to the bottom to see through the site glass window. tranny might only leak when it's under a load when driving if you are for sure it is leaking out. The only other possibility is your seal is leaking into bottom end and your burning it which would smoke pretty good.

Ok Ill check it again and see what i can find. thanks for the advice so far. also it wasnt smoking more than a 2 stroke normally does so thats why i didnt think its going into the bottom end

I'd say check it after it has sat for a day.......ride it then let it sit for a solid 4-6 hours and let it completly cool off and the oil to get back to the bottom. and check again....maybe do the whole process 2 or 3 times and it may help easly locate the problem.

Make sure the quad is on a level surface when you check it. Mine was on a slight decline and it looked empty. I added more oil then realized my mistake and had to drain and refill with the correct amount.

well i just rebuilt the top end and its still burning oil and smokeing pretty bad.does anyone know what could be the problem, and i got new piston rings gaskets etc. i took off the head cleaned all the oil off it and kicked the motor and theres oil on the top of the piston again and the oil level falls lower and lower everytimei turn it on. HELP ME.:-/:-/:-/:-/:-/ SOS!!!!!!!!!!!!

did u inspect the seals....u will have oil on the piston but if its running out of tranny fluid...more than likely its leaking into the crankcase

Well when I first took off the top end there was oil in the crankcase, the crank was basicly swimming in oil so is there supposed to oil in there???????

No ther is not supposed to be oil in the crank case. The only oil that the crank case uses is in the premix. Sound to me you have a bad crank seal on the clutch side of the motor. I would change that.
