currently I have no breaks what so ever on my blaster except for a tiny bit of front when you hold the break in all the way. but not enough to come to a stop even on flat ground without down shifting. The rear breaks are missing completely and all that is left is the break pedal and the rotor. The previous owner gave me a bag of rear caliper parts but there rusty and there are some parts missing completely. so my question is, how hard would it be to gear up a hydro break system for my back breaks? or possibly my front breaks? using parts from another fourwheeler? I found an atv junkyard locally that has parts for quite a few different bikes so Im thinking that if I could score some 400ex break parts (only because the 400s are so common around here there would probably be lots of parts bikes at the junk yard) how hard would it be to gear up a half decent setup without spending a pile of cash (im a starving student
haha , and I already spend most of my spare money buying the blaster) Im pretty good with mechanical things and I have a friend who is a machinist so he could make me up brackets if need be. Im just wondering if anyone else has tried this (other than the gsxr breaks setups, which are very nice but too expensive for me to buy and have shipped here to canada unfortunately
) and if there are any atvs that use parts close enough that they can be bolted right on to my bike or would be fairly easy to make work?
also, I havent had the chance to tear apart the front drum breaks to see if I can get them to work better. so Im more concerned about rear breaks, unless there is a better setup I can make for the fronts.
Thanks
