bought an s10

I drove a 1999 blazer with the 4.3 vortec. They are really similar to the 350. You said its a 350 minus 2 cyinders, true since they both share the same bore and stroke. Good motor, decent gsa, and good power. Reliability is a bit on the low side, bt nothing that cant be fixed. My water pump went out at about 110,000 miles, a/c went twice, radiator started leaking at 160,000, power steering pump started leaking at 140,000 miles.
 
and nice yeah the whole powertrain of these s10s are bulletproof, if it helps anyone my parts s10 is a 94 2wd 2dr cab regular bed im planning on using the blower motor, oil pump, and im not sure if the cat will fit but if it does im gonna take that too along with the bed but the parts s10 is also a v6 just non vortec so alot of stuff will fit
 
I had a '96 s10 with a v6 in it. Bad thing about the '96 is that the fuel pump is one piece and when they go out there about $500 to replace. Its the only year s10 that they did that to. Other then that mine ran great and I sold it almost 4 years ago with 227,000 miles on it and its still on the road today. I liked it so much I bought a '99 extended cab xtreme with a v6 5 speed in it. It only had 72,000 miles on it when I got it so it should last me a while! Good luck with your project
 
thanks its my oil pressure, its through the roof and i think the guage shows oil pressure when the trucks off so im not sure if its the pump or the ops, but when i turn the key the oil pump wines and my parts s10 never did that and also a friend of mine said his did the same thing and it means the oil pumps going bad, anyone know for sure?
