boost ports

Been there, done that. I welded 3/4" aluminum bar stock into the area beside the intake window and drill through to the lowest large cooling fin. It allows boyesen ports that abnormally oversized ( 1/2" wide 1" tall).
 
How did work out for u

It's on a drag only cylinder and my first outing was the other weekend (at a sand drag event) and the carburetor was flooding the engine out.

The modification to the cylinder, bottom two "cooling fins" on the transfer ports removed and the aluminum rod welded in place.

The next cylinder is going to be 4 of those (one on each corner) with the exhaust side rounds just to support the cylinder to keep from breaking the ears off.
