so i got a 79 jr 50 2 stroke:D and i been fixing it up and i got it running great and it was all running and riding good and i was riding it for about 10 minuts just putting around and then i went to give it gas and it bogged and died, so now it will just idle and when i try to rev it up it bogs out??
UPDATE: i pulled the plug out and its brownish tan colered and dry as a drout

I just did a60cc kawi 72 Kitty cat had same problem. Mine was float height in carb.. I would check into an air leak aswell. If you don't have a leak tester there's an ole trick (soapy water) squirt it around ur gaskets if u see bubbles forming guess what... I'm only saying this Cu's its worked for me a few times when I would first start the engine up Cu's if its to hot it will obviously just boil off but like u said as soon as u start it than throttle it bogs. And its a smaller engine so you should have enough time to do a good look over b4 she gets hot. 1more thing make sure u check crank seals.

Shouts air leak, or poor fuel supply, running lean and hot.

A 2 stroke plug normally will be oily when you pull it out.

Is this motor oil injected.
:o
Yes it is. Or should we say it used to be. Is there a spot for 2stroke oil that u can see.. I cant see it being blocked off like a blaster but its possible.

yes it is oil injected, i run motul 2 stroke injector oil

Has it been flipped or laying on its side for a period that could have caused an air lock in the injection lines.

Is it possible to do a leak test to confirm that it is airtight.

Is the pipe leaking, I mean blowing out exhaust gases, this will cause a lean mix.

I think u can cleannthe silencer on them they clog. There should be 2 screws on the back I think. What kind of slimy stuff Lol ... hmmm dry plug but slimy stuff out the exhaust.. id start with leak test.

the thing is, it ran fine and good for a few days, and yes the bike sat outside for 10 years unridden and it had old oil in the tank, i cleaned out the tank and put fresh oil, but it sat on its side when i was bringing it home in the truck

We had a little 80 that died in the A a while ago, removed the muffler internals and she ran like a dream. I could be stuffed up with goop.
