earlier i took it for a ride continuing the break in, and it was running great, however when i got back to my shop and i was getting ready to turn in as i slowed down it kinda bogged down and stalled, i started back up and drove around parking lot for a few mins, then it did it again. I have been trying to dial in the throttle screw, it seemed as if it was idleing high, i turned it a little then this happened. then turned it back, and i got a back fire??? i didn't mess with it any more tonight, any help would be great. Hoping to get it figured out so I can go to Crow Canyon On monday...

Did it do it only when turning? Might be cable routing. Did you do a leak down test on your new build? Is the gasket in the carb cap? Tors brick removed? Carb boot good condition? Carb clean float set? Boot from air cleaner tight?

It sounds like you may be running out of fuel. I would check for good flow from the tank. As said, do compression and leak down test.

How do you do a leak down test? It was running okay two days ago, and i was on here and noticed that my throttle cable was routed incorrectly, so last night i re routed above the frame cross bar. In doing so i had to unscrew the throttle cable, so i was thinking it could be possible that since re connecting i need to adjust, other thought was... when i did the rebuild i put a different stator on, (that looked brand new, bought it used from a guy) well my light wouldn't work, so i put my old stator back on. Since doing these two different things it bogged down. first i will check the cable to see if its getting pinched up, after that i will try to do some adjusting to the throttle. again thanks

Check that elec connections are clean and tight, add dab of dielectric grease to them. Double check everything you did to carb. Cap tight with gasket in there? Clamps tite?

It was the cable.. after i got up here i started it up took for a spin, and only when turning to the right did it happen. My head light was causing it to get tight on that turn. So... I went ot walmart and now am installing the fog lights to use instead of the stock head light. i think the stock light looks like sh*t any way

So after installing the walmart lights i went to start the bike and it wouldn't start, then I tried giving it a little throttle, and the thumb throttle was loose, so i pulled the cable up from the tors eliminator cap, and it was un hooked from the inside of the carb. so i re connected it, and pressed the thumb throttle a few times and it disconnected again... now im lost. i tried 3 or 4 times, and it keeps popping off. Again i need help, thanks in advance for any advise.

are you missing the clip that holds the cable ball to the slot in the carb ??

i think i might be missing that, but i dont think i ever had one to be honest. i put it back together, and as long as I keep the screw on top of the cap unscrew alot it keeps the tension tight and it stays in there. Ill have to order that clip. Do you know if the clip will work with the tors eliminator kit? cause its set up a little different that with the tors block on top of the carb.
