Ok here's whats happened so far. Cleaned my carb still ran like sh*t so I took the air filter off and boom ran like a champ! Want and bought a new plug and they didn't have an filters so I just cleaned the foam one I have and put it back on. Ran like sh*t! Took it back off and ran like a beast again! Parked it and a few hours later got on still with no filter and it ran like sh*t AGAIN! It idles fine but I have no top end power! So today I cleaned the carb again and lookd at the reeds and they seem to be fine so what could it be? No mods all stock running a 230 main at this point

First do a compression test to make sure you didn't screw the top end. Do a leak down test . What size jets are you running ? NEVER NEVER ride without an air filter !!!

i wasnt really riding without it just took it off and ran it up the street to see if that helped or not and it did majorly! im running a 230 main right now. as far as the comp test i have to get a tester first and i leak down tester also

Carb is not dripping and air screw is a turn and a half out and idle screw is also around a turn and half

Is the brass washer under the main jet?

Float level should 20 to 21.5mm on a stock carby.

you want to turn the carb and hold it on a slight angle to measure the float height, like shown here......

it should just barely be touching the inner needle, not depressing it,

It is possible to check the fuel level by attaching a length of clear plastic tubing to the drain nipple , lifting it up the side of the carby, and cracking the drain screw.

The fuel should show in the pipe to the level of the carb body above the float bowl gasket.

Idle adjusting.

Set float level.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor to responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

If it runs better when you take the air filter off, you must be on the rich side.

Running without the filter may have just leaned it out too much and damaged the piston or rings.

Compression test now.

I only ran it up the street 1 time without the filter. The filter is back on but the air box lid has been off and one days it runs like it should then i put it away and take it out the next day and it has no top end again. Tht is why I say electrical

TORS removed? What is the needle setting?
