hey i have a raptor 350 and a blaster. i want to put the shocks from the raptor on my blaster. i am getting burgard a arms today and the raptor front shocks are about 1 inch longer than the blaster shocks. would this effect my ride any? like lifting it 1 inch?

It's not quite that easy... 1 inch longer shocks needs about 5/8 farther out shock mounts to sit at the same level (approximately). So if you add an inch of shock length with the same mount, it will increase the preload ride height by 1 1/2" (again approximately).

The problem with that is the shock mount on the lower arm is put where it is to keep the ball joints from binding using a certain shock absorber throughout it's usable motion range. Putting a longer shock on it, limits the usable range between where the ball joint binds at the lowest point and the shock bottoms at the highest. You really want the shock to stop the suspension travel at both ends, never the ball joint.

Is this realy a problem in your situation? Probably not. The only time you're going to be hitting the bind on the ball joint is when you have no load at all on your arms (jumps and wheelies when the front tires are off the ground) which isn't AS detrimental to the ball joints as the other way around.

The real question is, why do you want raptor 350 shocks on your blaster? New shocks for the raptor and hand-me-down the factory shocks to the blaster? Do yourself a favor and try the new a-arms with the factory blaster shocks before you go changing. It ride will surprise you actually. Because the factory blaster shocks are so stiff but the new arms have so much more leverage on the shocks, they match right well. The blaster shocks don't have as much travel as the raptor 350 shocks but you problably won't be using all that travel anyway and the factory shocks will keep the ball joints happy.

It will lift it... probably not any worse than banshee shocks... only thing u can do is try it... just make sure the ball joints are put at a funny angle... and give us a ride report on the I:I

My Banshee shocks were a little longer too and did raise the front noticably. It leveled out though when I put in my z400 rear shock.

well i want my blaster to ride better in jumps and turns. thats why i want to put my raptor shocks on. they are alot stiffer and i think they are the same shocks as shee shocks. but i just got back home from picking the a arms up and i am going to put them on right now. but a ride report will have to wait until i get my cylinder back. thanks for the help guys.

banshee shocks are 1/4" longer than blaster shocks. The difference is negligible really, maybe 1/2" in free height when it's done.

My stock ones may have just been worn but you could lay them side by side with the shee shock and could see that the shee shocks were quite a bit longer. I didnt measure them before I put them on but it definately looked unbalanced until I replaced the rear. I know that all the measurements I saw when I was looking for shocks said Blaster shocks are 14.5" and Banshe/Warrior/Raptor 350s are 14.75".

14 3/4" minus 14 1/2" = ?

LOL! Your factory shocks might have been bent or dry too reducing their ability to fully extend.

Yeah dude I know the math but I also know there was more than a quarter inch difference between mine and the Banshees I put on. Like i said mine may have been worn/bent whatever but it definately raised it a bit. Was actually a good thing for me as I wanted a little more ground clearance.

well i got my arms on today. i am trying to figure out how to post pics on here from my phone cuz i didnt have a camera. but it took 2 hours and some a arm mount bending on my frame but theyre both on. i was going to do a hydro swap from my raptor, but it is going to take some drilling and mounting the t`s from the lines. so i am just going to reem my stock spindles out and run factory brakes for now. i will finish tomorrow if i have time. but they look good and i am happy with them

heres a pic like i promised...

yeah i need fronts. i got them almost bald but i only ride like once every 3 months and only on the road for like for 1 mile.
