I just want to say thanks in advance to everyone helping me I'm new to the forum and new to blasters. I got my blaster for 500 and the guy had it rebuilt and it ran great but looked crappy so i took it to the frame and had it painted and after putting it back together almost 2 years later still chasing my tail so looking desperately for help. After putting back together I did some obvious things like carb rebuild and new reeds new filter and thats about it, previous head was stripped out, by me, and so I replaced it. Did a compression check and its making 120 after kicking the crap out of it. had it running. would run 20 before taking it apart and pull crazy wheelies in first after putting back together had to push it up the hill with it running full throttle. I have done an oil block off and cut the wires to tors. I am lost on what I did. Any help appreciated.

I would do a total tors elimination... if you don't know how to check this out .http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-remove-your-tors-88-02-models.655/
Tors causes a lot of problems

You could be jetted wrong....List all mods and pipe for us and the temps and elevation you're riding at
Make sure the motor is leak free...no air leaks .
Make sure the carb float height is correct...20-21.5mm and the washer is under the main jet . Needle clip on middle slot

Well i have took the tors wires off but would it be better to buy a kit and all it has is a cheap reed spacer because i didn't want to buy a gasket haha and boysen reeds. and when i finally got it running it was about 65 70 in missouri so no high altitude and it blows smoke out before the header but no other leaks and i think the carb kit i got had a rubber seal for the main and no i have the clip one slot above trying to get it running

They like to leak around the reed cage...get that sealed up before you try to start it again . Do you have good spark ? You said you painted the frame...does the ground wire for the coil have a good connection ? Put the needle clip on the middle slot and start with the air screw 1.5 turns out from slightly seated . You need a washer under the main jet not an o-ring .

and yes it did start but i can't get it to start again it would only start at full throttle and could get it to hold idle if i let off the gas it would die and yes good spark

whatever you did undo it.
how did you strip head the spark plug threads you mean?
ngk b8es sparkplug.

sounds like reeds
carb
weak spark
or flywheel key is sheared
low compresion
fuel issue

yes the spark plug hole and the reeds are brand new never even ran them and would a new carb be a good option and how could i get a better spark also this probably wot help because i think it is just a broke spring in the kick starter but i changed the clutch and basket any chances that that could have caused problems
