there is one on craigslist near me for $500 and its got a 250 tri z(?) motor in it. i bet it'd be quick but i dont know if i'd trust someone elses skills to do a job like that

I feel the same way.60+ mph is a bad time to find out it wasn't done rite.

Buy it an put the motor back in a tecate.. My buddy has. A tecate trike motor in his blaster.. Frame has been re welded 3 times!!!!! Even went as far as 1/4 inch plate steel mount, and still broke it, pipe options suck, his is cut, extended an re welded.. Makes for low/ mid power band, but gives it a deep bark to the exhaust
 
Tecate 3 motors aren't counterbalanced, don't think that would be a very fun ride in a little blaster frame... If it was closer, I'd buy it for the motor.
