What blueman said. Get it to pass a leakdown test. Your going to hqve to investigate the reed cage bolt. See if its stripped or broken. Then go over and thru your carb. Clean it, set float level.

Things like a clean air filter, and fresh ngk b8es spark plug are good as well.

A lot of that info can be found in different sections here. Most of it is stickied at the tops of the sections.

Build or buy a leak tester. Awk08 sells them on here. Get ahold of him if you want to go the buying route.

Thanks for info how do you do a leak down test

I had a bug crawl into the fuel valve needle on my carb.. leaked gas. Did not rev when I noticed the fuel trail from moving it... yeah.. check for bugs plus everything else recommended. An air leak now could cost you a top end later or worse

I am going to try to fix the stripped reed cage bolt by maybe drilling and tapping it or maybe just retapping the threads unless there is a better way and I looked at the reeds and they are open a little on one side they are not flush so I guess I need new reeds then maybe rebuild the carb what size jet would you guys recommend it has a factory pipe with DG slip on k&n air filter and no air box lid it has a 295 main jet in it now

As far as I am aware no one makes a 295 main jet.

The flooding carb must fixed and the idle speed adjusted as per specs, and plug chop to confirm jetting starting at a 270 main jet.

The reed cage bolts must not be torqued up over 5.8 ft lbs otherwise the cage may warp and create an air leak.

compression test?
airscrew setting?
you can flip reed pedals if you want to cheap out.

my guess is either
low compression
whacked out carb settings
tors system was not unplugged correctly for your year.

what year is your blaster?
or what year cdi/stator assembly?
has anything electrically been replaced with cheap parts/and or aftermarket?:D
