Hey I bought a blaster today its in rough shape, but once I got it home i noticed that it wasnt firing. i tried it with a new coil off of one of my other bikes and still no spark. i tested the wire going into the coil with a volt meter and it says its getting power, but as soon as i touch the wire to the coil it loses power. can any of you help me?

Sounds like a ground issue. xclean the contacts and screws to the frame. make sure the on and off switch is not bad and corroded and shorting out, and the connections from there on back.

check all of the wiring connections, make sure the key switch is unplugged if not sued. If everything else checks out would probably suspect the CDI box, it will cause it to not fire. The other possibilities are flywheel key and bad stator.
