I have a 2004 yamaha blaster that is very hard to start after its not ridin for awhile. It runs really good and has no noticeable issues,no problems idling, is a power house when its running and will start the 1st kick after it is warm. I have changed the plug, air filter and replaced the gas you can push start it and it will run compression is all good can anyone help? My dam foot hurts!

THANKS A LOT! Do you have instructions how??? VERY NEWBIE!
Ok carb is out very easy to remove. Should it look dirty??? it looks pretty clean.Alot of gas poured out is that normal??? Aslo I noticed when the gas weiner was in the off position it was still leaking a little gas,is that normal????

Got carb out cleaned (did not look dirty)got it
to start runs great like always we will see after a few days.when I was taking carb apart and damaged a few threads on the top of carb housing could not get cap to screw all the way but enough to hold,is this a problem? Thanks for all the help!!!!

mine is completely striped out all i did was but blue rtv all over the threads and on the capl to seal it up

i also used zipties to hold it down good on the carb

actually i think it could be a problem if its stripped... peopel will correct me if im wrong but in less you maybe rtv it or something it will leak air leaking air is one of the main reasons for these machines to die...

we do have a test for air leaks you can buy, an should buy to check your bike for leaks before you ride a member slickerthanyou sells them on here....

however these test wont check the carb for air leaks it only test from the intake boot down =/

Yes I agree that the threads being stripped is probably not a good thing. Even if you seal it with RTV, that thing could pop off and pull the slide in the carburetor up and you could be on the quad while the throttle is wide open. Not good!
