I have recently started having an issue with my blaster. It runs good and shifts good but I can go from 1st to 6th geaf or from 6th to 1st and I know this is not right but I can not figure out the problem

gotta be a shift star or shift shaft detent problem, time to download the manual from the general support section and tear into the clutch side cover to see what the problem is

Are you saying you can perpetually go 123456123456123456? If so, that's impossible. 2 of the slots in the shift drum have ends to them. There is no way for the drum to turn past them with the shift fork pegs in the slots.

I found a small piece of metal under the shifting star just laying on the case. It is very small and shaped like a rectangular prism. Please help and thank you

Ok thanks. Should I be able to just put it back in the right spot or is it more complicated than that?

Besides burn it... does anyone know where to go from here?

I did NOT replace the drum. I welded the star like the newer blasters are done and now I can not shift...

try turning the output sprocket while shifting.
most won't shift much if nothing is turning like it would be if running

weird.... Looks as though it is working fine. If you turn the sprocket / output shaft it will make it easier.
