I'm working on an 01 Blaster. It will start and idle fine. When you try to ride it runs terrible. It only pulls til about 1/4 throttle. Then it sputters and doesn't have any power. Trying to correct the problem we checked the compression. It was only at 60psi, so we had it bored and honed. We put in a new piston kit from Wiseco. It still does the same thing. While I was troubleshooting I noticed that if I shut the fuel off the motor would run good right before it ran out of gas. I also noticed that when I pulled the spark plug it was wet with fuel. I then did everything I could to limit the fuel going into the combustion chamber. I moved the clip on the throttle needle to the leanest setting. That helped some, so I bent the float tab to several different settings each setting made it run a little better. This won't correct the problem because eventually the setting shuts off all the fuel. I've cleaned the carb numerous times. I'm still running way too rich. I need some help.

The jet is a 230. I did try the A/F mixture screw. It ran a little better with each half turn. I'm four complete turns out now. It's running the best it has since the problem started, but it is still not right. It pulls to about 1/3 throttle now.

four turns out is too much, jet down to a 220, set your a/f to 1 1/2 turns, with the needle at half way slot, you might want to check your internal clutch adjustment too it could be just slipping really bad...

It does the same thing in nuetral. I found that the washer is missing above the main jet. Does anyone think this will make a difference?

Got it running tonight. It ended up being there was a washer missing between the main jet and the main nozzle. Runs like a champ now. Too bad it took a bore job and a piston kit to figure out it was a .99 cent washer. Thanks for the help everyone.

you still have a blown crank seal if your puffing white, id fix that too or you'll start fouling out plugs and wear out your clutch...
