hello i have a blaster cant get it to run. took the reeds out and they are fine i look at the piston and i think there is a peice broken off i want to rebuild but the person i bought it from siad they bored it to a 250 how do i know this and how do i know what piston to get...i dont have alota money so if anyone has some ideas and can help i would appreciate it greatly

the person you bought it from is an idiot or a liar... your going to have to take the jug off and take it to a machine shop or send it to one of our site sponsors to get it rebored and a new piston. that is if its not already past its limits. you should be able to read some numbers off the top of the piston to see what bore you are on. if its 68 you will have to get a different cylinder and resleeve that one. also be sure and get all the peices out of the crank area to avoid screwing up any bearings and check for any play in the crank, ther should be no up and down play at all.

thats a 240 bb kit not a 250, the guy you bought it from is an idiot, u need to go to a 72.25 piston, see if u can find any markings or take a pic of the motor to see what bbk it is or if it was sleeveda to a 240. look at the inside of the cylinder and see if it is damaged, but if the piston is missing pieces u need to bore it most likely

u beat me freek

if the cylinder is in good shape do i still need to bore the cylinder or can i just get a piston kit

the peice that broke off is on the bottom of the piston and quite small it still check out with a compression test

but chances are there is still fragments of the piston floating around somewhere in there...but if the crank spins nice and freely u might be able to get away without having to split the cases to clean that out.... but a tiny little peice of that in the crank bearings will destroy them in no time at all...then u have to split the cases...as far as the piston goes, it prolly broke piston slap or too much "piston to cylinder" clearence, so u will have to get the next size piston and over bore

dont cut corners when it comes to this especially, measure your cylinder and see where its at, i would go to the next one, 72.25. what was the compression and i would clean it out just to be safe
