im a noob to small got a 97 blaster
i was runnin thru my field last night WOT in 5th
and i went to pull the clutch in it died
so i popped it and it started back up
well now i cant get it to kickstart
i had my buddy pull me in his truck about 15-20 mph and it fired right up in 3rd gear
but it wont idle
so im guessin its a carb issue? i got a brand new ngk plug
put it in still the same thing
ive cleaned the carb and everything maybe the floats are sticking any ideas/advice would be great i dont have alot of money to spend im lookin at about 50 bucks in my wallet haha

yeah i pre mix my gas f*ck automatic oilers lol
i mix it 24:1 and everytime i put gas when its empty its only a gallon so i put 5 ounces of oil in it

sounds like your going to need new piston an rings.my blaster just sh*t the bed it only had 60 psi after 6 kicks.

you might be a little lean on oil you melted your piston rings if that pull the cylinder clean the carb get a new piston a rings and if the piston rings did melt get your cylinder re sleeved

Lol i dont think anyhing is wrong with the bottom end it still runs if i pull it and it runs like a champ when i push start it at 20 mph i was riding wheelies and doing donuts

yeah im gettin spark
thats why i said i think its a carb problem
maybe the floats sticking or a jets clogged or somethhing idk
im new to workin on small engines
im not very knowledged yet
but my friend is gonna look at the carb tomorrow
it kicks and sounds fine its just wont start unless i pull start it with a car but when it starts its rowdy as f*ck

doubt its a carb problem, when a 2 stroke has less than usual compression and wont start with the kicker. 8 out of 10 times its time to do the top end, check your compression ,u can bump start it for now but soon u will completly fry it and risk the piston shearing off and going into the bottom end.then u will cry lol cause u will be spending about 700 on arebuild instead of 200 for just the topend

Should be 140 to 160 IIRC. So its low just a little maybe, should still run though I would say.

yeah so could it be an issue with the carb??????? it always floods the bowl overfills and sh*t
the carb was sittin in therre crooked for awhile so maybe the floats and everything are messed up

thanks for everyones input we cleaned the carb set the floats and it fires up now..... im new 2 working on 2 strokes its cake once you take a look at it though. im thinkin bout going with boyesen reeds and a k&n and gettin rid of the TORS when i get paid tomorrow
any other ideas?
