Can anyone please help me what to do? I have a 2004 blaste stock standard it used to drive 100% but now it idles perfect but if i drive it hard or it heats up it over revs, and i have checked for debris in the carb, the reeds are fine, but i noted when i removed the reed cage there was a gasket on the carb side but no gasket seal on the other side could that be my problem? or is this a sign of piston or ring problems.

please any help,i dont what to drive it like this

thanks

There should be a gasket between the reed cage and the jug.

No gasket between the cage and carby boot, it has a built in gasket, but it is known to leak and sealant is advised.

if it revs on its own thata a good sign of an air leak... probly form the missing gasket like blaster said the jug an reed side should have a gasket an i put the high temp perma gasket on the seal hes talking about...

Dont run the bike intill you leak test it or you might never have a 100% running bike again

Thanks for the info ive noticed that theres no seal on the carbs side so will get that fixed up and see what happens. What can happen if it runs like this because i ran it about 3 times like this??

well running with an air leak will add air into the engine

upset the air fuel ratio

make you bike run lean

an if you keep riding.... BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM there goes your top end

fix it up leak lest it an make sure its air tight however the leaktester does not test the carb so you willhave to make sure this is sealed well your self

what is best to use if i want to seal it on the reed cage side and on the carbs side?there where i remove the reeds? If i fix that up and it still revs high any other advice?

the primary reason that i know for a blaster is its sucking air in... i think that should be your problem expecially since we know thats an airleak there...

I used high-temp copper perma gasket to seal it... do that wait a day for it to cure is best leak test only then fire it up an im betting that you will be sounding alot different

Okay thanks ill give it a try and get some of that sealent,,is it okay if i just check for a leak spraying carb cleaner around there and see if revs increase or whats best way?

Best way is a leak down test!
