So when i bought my blaster it was completely stock. Since then i've added a k&n w/ outerwears, custom airbox lid, oil injection disabled, turbine core 2 silencer and advanced the stator 4 degrees. I am now running a 260 main jet. I premix 32:1. When it was stock it would start first or second kick without choking the carb. After the k&n and the new jet, I had to choke it and let it run for about 10-20 seconds and it would run fine with no choke after that. Now that i'm pre mixing I have to fully choke it and it takes about 6 or more kicks to start. I have to repeat that four times or so to even get it to wanna try to run with the choke off. My foot is starting to bruise! It runs beautifully once its warm, no power loss, no bogging, smokes beautifully at idle and wot. I tried to check my plug but it is a nice dark brown color. I even switched plugs to an iridium and its a nice dark chocolate color now too. It seems I've defied logic here. Can someone help? Thanks

is your air/fuel screw adjusted correctly the main jet curcuit is not the only one that gets effected by the intake add on...
get it fired up and start messing with the pilot and needle and see if its easier to start...
also check your compression that could tell us alot too

It tries to fire while choked. It will even run for a few seconds before it dies. Finally it will run choked for awhile and after 20-30 seconds it will run with no choke. I've been thinking that maybe the carb needs cleaned? A dirty carb and new to premixing could be causing a clog in the pilot area?

you just answered ur own question...clean the carb, and clean the reeds while ur at it.

yeah it just dawned on me that it probably hadn't been done since it was new and with all the oil going through it now its probably sticking or plugging and it takes a second to break through when i'm trying to start it....

I took the carb off and thoroughly soaked it with gumout. I reset the air/fuel screw in the process of cleaning it(something i forgot to try). So I'm not sure which could have been the problem. It seems to be fixed though. I also noticed that my outerwears had turned brown from all the dust which wasn't helping. So a clean air filter, reset mixture screw and cleaned carb did the trick. Your guess is as good as mine to which actually solved it. Thanks for all the quick replies though.
