I'm new to the forum and I've never had a major problem with my bike until now. My bike was fairly well. I stopped riding for a little while, bout 2 or 3 months. Well it never ran again. I thought it was ny carb because it was in pretty bad shape so I replaced it. I recently replaced it with a 28mm mikuni from a yz80 brand new boyesin power reads and full dmc exhaust. When I first got the bike I rebuilt it had it bored .020 over with a weisco piston. I'm thinkin now maybe its my coil or something along those lines because I'm gettin a very small blue spark. Any ideas or a good place to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

well you have spark..... so the next step is to insure you are getting fuel. does it do anything? what year is it? how did you go about deleting the tors?

After a couple kicks it spits back through the exhaust Idk about the tors my dad it for me and he did it to his blaster. It's a 91.

Well my leg says it has pretty good compression lol jus kidding it feels pretty strong but as far as an actual reading no I haven't done one. Would you happen to know what minimum compression is?

Ok I'm going to have to do a compression test then I was hoping not bc of the results if it comes back bad . I'll let you know what I find if you think of anything else please post it bc I really miss my blaster lol

The one thing I spotted right away is the spark plug. My bike refuses to run the ngk plug it has to hav the Denso plug. I literally tried two brand new ngk plugs and it wouldn't crank changed them out for the Denso plug and it would fire right up

might want to swap coils with your dads quad just to see. you said he has a blaster too right. that doesn't make since that it won't run with the proper spark plug

He traded his up for a raptor but his bike had the same work done and he had the same plug issue. I thought it was a common thing. I'm thinking the coil or the plug because the spark jus doesn't look very strong. It's pretty tiny actually.

Checked my compression...I have a whopping 1psi...I have no clue how it got that far down so fast but it did so I guess its rebuild time...any suggestions...I mostly trail ride but I still want good power

WOW, 1 psi.

I have never seen compression that low. Was the compression tester working right ?

Id be interested, in seeing some good pictures, once you take the top end off.

Sporty

I double checked and it came back the same. I pulled the top off and its like I don't have any ring left. I sprayed wd-40 in the cylinder thinking the rings were jus stuck...it drained past the piston almost instantly. I can shake the piston back and forth in the cylinder with my fingers.

I was thinking since I'm going to tear it down anyway. Should I go ahead and build it up with (and I'm jus spitting out ideas here) maybe a big bore kit or a stroker crank or am I asking for more trouble then I need?

Did you ride it with the 28mm, if so did you rejet, to suit the motor and DMC?

It was suppose to be fmf not dmc sorry...I bought the carb to replace my old one because I was told that it was my problem instead of looking for myself. So I bought the carb and never got to use it....its installed but that's about it.
