hi i have a 88 blaster and it died on me when i was riding and took a few min to get stared again. finally i got it running again and it died out again and i got it back to the house got it cleaned up and now i have no spark any ideas?

Big can-o-worms time. Does it still have the TORS system on it? Let's start there. If the answer is yes or you don't know, then take off the hood. Under that you will find three little electrical boxes. The upper left one is the TORS control box. Unplug the blk/wht wire and try again.

Ok. Next step then. Disconnect the blk/wht wire from the cdi. (lower left box) This disables the key and run switches. The bike should start without this plugged in. If not, plug it back in, youneed this to stop the engine.

BTW, how does that plug look? Have you put in a new one?

Assuming you still don't have spark, then it is time to look at the coils. The manual has a good step-by-step procedure for testing the stator coils, ignition coil and plug wire. Start on page 7-10. You will need an ohmmeter.

Downloadable manual, adobe acrobat reader required.

If you have a test light you can try it on the orange wire up by the ignition coil, while kicking. It will flicker if voltage is getting that far. This is an alternate method. If you do all the manual checks, you won't need to do this.
