i hate the stock block light on my blasty..i was looking for a brighter light to install but the problem is that im not too good at making mounts and all that..does anyone have a light kit there possibly looking to part with thats ready to mount?thanks jason

The problem with getting brighter lights on a blaster is not so much the mounting it has to do more with finding the power. The stock light is 45W and that's pretty much all the stator has (you may notice it dims at idle). Search around here it's been beat to death, but you can float your stator and install a battery to power more powerful lights. For now I have an isolated 12v battery that runs a spotlight, and just running my stock light for general riding.

I'm hoping one day to be able to either float the stator and charge my battery to run larger lights, or get a combination of lights that work good with the stock stator.

There is a thread on using Wal-Mart driving light and different bulbs. The whole set up is about $40 and many have mounted them to the fender brackets or shock mounts. If you can't find it,, I'll look for the link and post it later.

i stuck a h4 bulb in my stock housing with some mechanic wire...def brighter but hates the idle(almost off)

Sounds like a good way to get more light simply. Out of curiosity, do the bulbs burn out quick? With the extra amp draw I'd imagine at idle your getting really low voltage.

Here's my plan for extra light output, the XP-2 Model. 3000 lumens (average car headlights are around 1000, I'd say the stock bulb is about 800). Draws less than the stock bulb, well within the limits of the stator, and has good voltage tolerance for fluctuating voltage when idling . And should fit nicely where the stock light is, maybe with a little modification.
