My 96 blaster is idling but when you start to rev it up it starts to backfire and every time it backfires there is a flame produced out of the silencer. so here is how its set so far.

Tors removed with the Vito's Tors removal kit for the carb
Mix is Belray 40:1
230 main jet
needle is set at the 2nd notch from the top
compression @ 120psi
no upgrades except procircut silencer
Fuel air mixture is 2 and a half turns out

Hehe, just doing what I can. :D BTW, watch your right foot when you go to kick start that flame-throwing engine... if the timing is indeed off, the engine may kick back and your risk injuring or breaking your leg. Check that key before you try to start it again.

Oh, Ok. Are you sure the key didn't fall out on accident when you went to put the flywheel on? It has been known to happen, and I'd check it again to be sure its still in there. Why was the old flywheel replaced? Just wondering...

I see. I think I know where this is going.... Since your old flywheel's magnets broke apart, it is highly likely that, when this happened, the stator plate got hit by shrapnel. Pull your flywheel and have a look at it. If you see any damage to the coils, there's the problem.

Even if the coils look OK, test your stator plate and compare it to the specs in a manual. It doesn't take much to damage the fragile coils under the flywheel, and even minor damage will make the engine run poorly. You can get a good, used stator plate off ebay for under $ 30.00 or so if you look around a little.

yeah for real ive been trying to get mine to do that for a while.... and yeah that sounds like a timing issue. id have to agree with braaptor on this one. ohm that mofo out see what you get
