i know this is probably a dumb one but my idle is reving really high and i looked for the idle screw to adjust and the screw is missing. lol dont know how but it is. now its reving up really high. is there any way that i can steal an idle screw off another carb and settle it down. i got one off a bigger carb but i think its too big. any ideas. critisism helps too guys dont be shy..lol.

nah...he's got an airleak, prob from your missing idle screw, leaning out will cause the high r's

well i blocked the idle screw to stop the air but now it will rev out and then go back down and just about die unless i give it throttle, then i try to ride it and it tries to bogg out on me so i thump on the throttle. any time the throttle is let off it tries to die unless i stay on it. any ideas. i know its the carb but not sure what or how to fix it...

well yeah you have to be able to adjust the idle, without the screw your SOL...all you've done is stop the lean condition...

i heard that it might also be the air needle. i guess it controls the flow of fuel at 1/4 throttle or something...im not sure how to adjust it right. i know i need the needle but i might just get a whole carb thats factory tuned. unless i can figure out how to adjust the needles to factory settings.

found the problem guys thanx for all the help, i had an air leak through the boot, and i got an idle screw to idle it out, but i have to easy out the 2 broken bolts that broke off into the cylinder. the 2 bolts is what seals the boot on to the sylinder to it wasnt sealed and caused serious leakage. thanx guys...
