Here's the first head from my new student Lucas Conroy. This kid is a sponge and soaks it up as fast as I give it to him.

Head looks great I am thinking about having this done on the rebuild I am doing but does it shorten engine life? My son does not race jut trail riding but looking to hop it up a little but keep engine reliability.

this should have no bearing on engine life, just sets the compression, squish band and CC's of the head where they should have been to begin with for more effecient combustion and burn pattern, instead of the very poor design yamaha gave the blaster.

Awk08 is absolutely correct. Yamaha de-tuned the hell out of the blaster to tame it for
'New" inexperienced riders, plus gave us tuners the ability to open up things and make them work better. Take for example that rubber snorkel on the air cleaner lid. You can't even get your thumb in the opening. That is the first thing you remove, then check jetting. The snorkel on the banshee is worse.

I have always had that question. Why in the world is there all these little simple things that make the blaster so much faster not done in the first place. When you can add horsepower with a dremmel, a few bits and some sand paper it makes you wonder.

If blasters came from the Yamaha factory like they should have, Yamaha wouldn't have sold as many banshees, and the blaster would have been higher priced.
