Yamaha blaster keihen carb vitos.big bore 240 fresh top end rebuild , if left idle it will just stall any ideas? Runs.strong in throttling just at idle stalls.

this should help......

float height

adjust airscrew/pilot jet

does it have an idle screw ?
if not, it's probably a PJ model, which turning the choke knob is the idle enrichment,
counter clockwise increses the idle

Yes it is a pj and head idle control on choke knob but how high should that normally be set at I felt like it was to high .

Yes it is a pj but how far should the idle be set at I felt like it was up to far too keep it running.

turn the knob up as far as required
set your floats and airscrew/pilot first, as described in the links above

What do I need to leak test and so turning the knob up to far won't hurt it? I mean I don't think it even goes half way up .

i see were your coming from you just rebuilt it so your being carefull. What is the rest of quad set up like air filter exhaust pilot jet ,main jet,lid on or off?

Vitos crank , vitos complete big bore top end, br9es plug, vitos reeds, pj keihin carb, vitos fat bastatd exhaust , vitos silencer, k/n open air filter off carb and at this time dont remember jets but I know I jetted it for 60° bc thats what it was off rebuild . I use 97 octane pump gas and 32/1 mix . Also has brand new clutch and clutch cover gasket!

is it recommended to use a br9es??? anyone??chime thats cold plug almost like a cr125 that is supposed to have the 9 but everyone knows it needs a 8 to run ,anyone ? of course do your leak test first:)

Will do and yes that's what I raced with and with the recent rebuild the paper work for Vitos.240 big bore kit recommended br9es

running a colder range plug won't hurt a thing if it's not fouling them
