What up fellow blaster peps i need your help once more.
Ok here goes i bought a blaster in the past march and had for a week and i blew the motor took apart and piston rod was stuck to crank,so ordered another crank and gaskets/seals and put together today kicked 3 or 4 times fired right up,my problem is i rode it around the yard for bout 20 or 30min to see how it was running and cut it off to see if anything was leaking and it was leaking oil from the front shaft that the front sprocket rides on my question is can i get another and put it in from the outside???? Or put something around it or on it to stop the leak??? And my next question is after i seen that i started it back up in neutral to check everything else and i pulled the clutch in to go to first and it chocked off and seems like the clutch cable was looser and i cant understand it.and was working good just before when rode

:-/

any help would be very helpful

yes you can replace that from the outside. just make sure you put an oring in the grove of the splines for the sprocket. that way you don't damage the seal while putting the new one on

I trust that you have leak tested, and have done heat cycles, and re tensioned the head and jug, before you rode it round the yard.

no actually i have not got dark on me so i left it alone and this is my first quad so i didn't know i had to but i am good at following directions and working on things if you could tell me a little more about that stuff and what i need to do???

Any rebuilds on a 2 stroke motor should be tested for air leaks prior to starting.

Heat cycles!

Engine Break In - YouTube

After the heat cycles, re tension the head bolts to 20 ft lb and the jug to 18 ft lb, then ride about 2 tanks of fuel at no more than 3/4 throttle.

May also pay to plug chop to see if the jetting is correct.

Plug chop.

Warm up motor to operating temp.

Fit new B8ES plug, ride through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.

Switch of the motor and pull in the clutch, roll to a stop.

Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.

Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.

There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.

If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.

If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.

I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.

thanks man good info, any ideas of why the clutch got looser it was tight at first and i could pull the clutch leaver in and put it in first it worked right then i cut it off and started it back up a few min later and clutch didn't seem as tight and put it in first and choked off, could the rod in the middle of the clutch need adjusting inward????

As to the seal, clean shaft and area well first. Wrap shaft with masking tape to protect seal. Pack inside of seal with grease. Use socket, pipe, tubing the size of seal to drive it in flush with case.
