hey guys i just put my blaster back together after rebuilding and its not the first one ive done but the most complicated, first after getting it together all was good riding it around then decided to rip through all gears on the back road by my house get almost to the top of the hill and it dies and wont start, i then turned it around and pop started it and made it back to the yard, let it set for a day or so and today i went out started it up and it revs up good sounds mean but yet doesnt have any getup what so ever and i noticed the chain was loose so i adjusted it and pulled it back and tightened it up made one lap around the yard and it dies and i noticed the chain was saggen horribly is that what causing it not to have any getup or is it in the clutch at times it feels like its slipping but after checking all the disks and plates out they were fine any idea why it keeps dieing and no get up? i do have a aftermarket exaust its a fmf fatty i just put on there and currently no air filter just open carb for the moment since this was the trial run for it.

you have a fuel flow problem .read up on how to clean and check your carb. and there is two bolts that tighten your chain and two that hold it in place :) you need a air filter, why would you run your quad on a fresh rebuild like that?

Wow, running with no air filter is not only asking for all the trash, dust, grit, low flying birds or anything the carb will suck In to destroy the engine, but the AFR will be so lean on fuel that you have possibly cooked the piston.

I make no apology for being hard, hopefully you have not learnt the hard way.

Did you Leak test after rebuild?

Did you perform heat cycles?

Did you re tension the head and jug bolts?

Did you fang it WOT up the hill?

Get an air filter on there pronto, but it might just be too late to save that engine.

Pull the pipe off and look up the exhaust port for piston damage.

Read up on jetting and air leaks and what carnage will happen if you choose to disregard basic engine tuning.

yea the motors fine, i rebuilt the carb and adjusted the clutch its tight now, i also put a full fmf gold series fatty exaust on it now. i had a blaster once before that was all aftermarket and it made that chirping noise every now and then as well ive pulled the head and checked the rings tried different rings put new ones on still does it i think its caused by the tors but idk it will do it when i try and start it sometimes and if im just like sitting in neutral keeping it running it will

also i pulled the main jet out and it said 230 on it idk if i need bigger ones or smaller since i put this phatty pipe on there

You need at least a #260 + main jet for a Fatty, any other mods to the breathing need bigger jetting.

Chirping sounds like a warped head or improper tensioning of the head nuts.

Did you use a new gasket?
