So i am having idle issues with my carb my TORS idle screw isnt working, and the only way to get the bike to idle is to adjust the throttle cable. My question is I have an 95 RT180 that uses a 26mm carb it has the idle screw and everything, can I just swap them out? Pros and Cons? Im sure they threads are the same since they are both yamaha, should I remove the TORS system? or can i just use thread the bottom portion of the carb with the throttle slide and go?

use that whole carb... body, cap, adjuster, slide and all
cleaned and jetted for the blaster.

a quick ebay search shows the rt180 uses a mikuni carb, same as the blaster, the jets should interchange.
it also appears to have an oil injection inlet nipple,
in case thats sized for the oil consumption a 185 needs ?
i'd just block it off and mix your fuel/oil

you'll need a tors eliminator cable....

head out back and throw that tors brick as far as you can,
do not re-use it

Why do I need the TORS eliminator kit if I'm using a diff carb? What exactly does the kit do? And what is the TORS for besides idle adjust? So you think I will be good just swapping carbs and using the blaster jets? I'm sure the RT180 are to small. I think this might be today's project!!!

the link i posted above i believe is just a tors cable, not complete kit.
you need a new cable, because the one connected to the tors will not connect to a carb cap, and if it did would be too short anyway.

and the one from the bike won't work because its for a twist throttle and won't connect to a thumb throttle.

tors = "throttle over ride" system
it will "supposedly" kill the ignition if the cable breaks or thottle gets stuck open somehow
when you release the thimb throttle, it hits a switch, if the slide doesn't close, the system senses that with the switch in the brick, and kills the ignition
it's garbage, throw it out I:I

Can I just screw in the carb to the blasters slide and needle assembly until I have time to get the cable? My blaster is also a twist throttle

You need to remove the TORs because it controls the idle, as does the idle screw in the side of the carb.

Running both screws will make it hard to keep a steady idle, or to set it in the beginning...

I didn't know that, thanks for the info. I thought the TORS was the oil injection unit. I don't want to thread jack but 1 quick question. Is the TORS and oil injection 2 separate systems?

sure are 2 seperate systems and have no bearing on each other

Hey guys, can anyone tell me what I need to do with the TORS system to swap out the carb to a Keilhn 34mm/
