i just bought a 1999 blaster where someone "rigged" the front disk bake set up on it. i am parting it out but dont know how to tell if there blaster or banshee. the reason why i ask is because it has alot of banshee parts rigged to it so i think it might be banshee. does anyone know how to tell? they will be sold on the board once i figure out what they are.

if its a blaster the top of the spindle where the a-arm bolts in will be a pinch style mount. it will have a slit and a hole to stick the bolt through to "pinch" it and hold it in place. If its a banshee it will have a solid mount. no slit or other hole. However if it is rigged like you said it will be tougher to tell

there is no pinch bolt on top like that. its just a hole and someone welded the ball joint to the spindle hahahaha. i was thinking of just cutting the ball joint stud off and selling them as is. i think if someone grinded the weld off it would be OK but i dont need them and am parting out the quad. what would they be worth ? i am gonna get a few pics. it needs new hard lines since they where all bent up but the brakes work.. thanks for the help

here are the pics.

Someone has rigged banshee spindles to fit the blaster a-arms. Without taking the ball joint out of the upper mount, it's impossible to say how it's put in there.

i am going to cut the ball joint and grind the weld off to see just what the hell someone did. do they usually have that hole in them like that ? looks like they put a cotter pin though it too. people are STUPID. is this set up worth anything ? i know the spindles are probably no good but is the rest the same as a blaster ?

It does look like someone put a cotter pin in it. MAYBE whoever did that did not destroy the banshee taper and you can clean it up and someone with a banshee or burgard arms can use them as is.

thanks for your help. the weld looks crappy that might be a good thing but who knows till there cleaned up and inspected. it takes longer to do it wrong then it does to just get the right stuff lol
