That reminds me of back in youth football, one of our running backs never wore a cup, and when we played chicopee....the refs actually lined everyone up and had us all check (apparently they were always supposed to do that, but I think they just trusted us most of the time). Well, he didn't hear the cup on Jeff. So he asked him to knock again, and he did, and said "yeah, I've got one on" while he definitely did not. Well, the ref went and punched him right in the groin, and he went down!! It was horrible...it hurt me too, and I had a cup on!!
He ended up borrowing one from another team that wasn't playing!!!
The entire game my coaches kept yelling at that ref, calling him "Chester."
