best piston to buy

lmao.... really??? I prefer a weisco forged piston bc in the past i have had a cast piston decentegrate(sp*) on me and distroy my crank too. that wouldn't have happend with a forged piston. it would have seized before melting to pieces
ok well that other blaster i race aginst had a naruma in it and he said it felt like it had more power but ill probably get a wiseco
the namura is what ruined my crank. the small amounts of melted alluminum fell down into the crank chamber and ate the big end rod bearing up. actually my fault but like i said that wouldn't have happend with a forged piston.
well i dident want a cast piston especially after you said that synce we just put a $150 crank in it
im pretty sure all pistons are made with the same shape. some have rounded or shape corners in the port window, The biggest difference is how the piston is made. theres pros and cons for both, naruma (Cast) and wisco(forged).
the cast piston in theory should grant you more power, in a very small form!!! less friction, tighter fit.
forged is a bit more rood and crude and is known in these engines to take abit more abuse.
Both are fine, ive had more then one expierence with cast and forged in the past.... same sorta outcome like scotj!!! for me cast seemed to sh*t the bed quick. i have two motors sittin on shelves with Holes blown through the bottom thanks to piston exploading.
Joeak47 runs cast in his blasters with no problem!! he has some good rightups on the differences between the two.

when i bought my blaster it had an airleak at the bottom of the cases. i thought it was just an oil leak bc i didn't know any better. eventually on a really hot day i was running long wide open stretch's and it slowly melted away the exhaust side of the piston until the rings snagged and shut it down. i had no clue what i was doin back then

I feel the best bang for your buck is a swm or namarua.

To know the true value, you almost have to be able to understand and have the ability for metal allergy.
I do not know if you can do a rock well test on aliminuim. cast/ forged.

I have expirenced both meltdowns, cast and forged, my first top and bottom end rebuild was done before i found this site and I ended up with the same exact airleak the second go around with a brand new weisco crank and weisco piston.(Idid not leakdown test my motor. just didn't know any better) I was riding in the same conditions at the same place. the piston seized and did not come apart like the cast did
well if the blaster decides to sh*t its self again and we have to buy a new crank my dad will sell the blaster or part it out and buy me a 300 or 400ex
No matter what you go with, it should last 4years. unless you rider very very hard or have other issues, not resolved.
This is just as ridiculous as saying that all cast pistons suck. Yeah right.
Somebody did something wrong. Perhaps no warm up prior to use?

It may help us determine what happened to the "3 week wiseco".
My bet.... four corner seizure... = no warm up.
