I just got a FREE, yes i sed free 1990 Blaster. Im looking to put 300 to 400 dollars in the motor right now. The motor came in a box. It obviously needs bored and what not. I wanna give it some more power, the thing is stoke now, but im looking to get more power from it. Im planning on lowering it and putting smaller rims and tires on it, but I have no idea as to what I should do to the motor. This would be my first 2 stroke. As I own a 350x ATC, and a Raptor 660cc. So my question is what is the best things to do to the engine for 300 to 400 dollars? Yes I know about the oil injection block off, i will be doing that. Thanks, and sorry for my rambling on:D

Okay thanks for the replys, before I joined i seen a post on the timing. Anything need changed after doing that? Whats your guys opioin on the TORS removal?

Remove the TORS and throw it in the trash.

Advance your timing +4 degrees and get VF3 reeds.

Get a good pipe too.

Porting it while your going the rebuild is the best time to do it.

Once you do the above get a larger carb, then you will have a good running little beast.

Are you talking about putting $400 into the motor after the rebuild or is that including the build.

You'll put $300 or $400 into it, and then realize you want to spend another $300 or $400. At least that's what happened with me.

That will probly happen to me. I was looking at the Vforce reeds. Do you buy the whole box thing or just the reed its self? Sorry for not knowing the term. This is my first 2 stroke.:)

what are you ambitions in this quad :
1. race it
2. suspension
3. motor
4. appearance

what are you really using it for ? becuase many you wont want engine mods and want to spend it somewhere else

Im planning on using this for riding. Manly some trails mostly open fields and small flat tracks me and my buddies have made that we race on. I want it to be snappier than stock, with a good bottom, mid and top. Oh and appearence doesnt matter to much to me, as long as it looks nice, it doesnt have to be all chromed or nickeld out.

your not gonna only put 300-400 dollars in it,i say fo rnow if thats all the money you have get exhaust and the reeds and 400ex , or 450 shock or somethin like that and if u hav more get the p/p +3 stroker all that good stuff

Engine mods aren’t the only way to make your Blaster fast. If you want to beat up on your buddies on that flat track then do the Banshee axle mod and flip your front rims for less than $80

best bang for the buck....try china town in NYC,those lil asian girls sureee know how to suck a...........oh wait,ur talking about upgrades. Id go with what Xmous said, dont skimp on the reeds or exhaust,bc a good one say LRD,Shearer,F7 will handle ur later mods great, aswell as V3 reeds.
