well as you can see im new here
http://www.blasterforum.com/introductions-8/new-here-22132/

and if you read that youll know the story.

as of now i dont have a picture and ill post it up as soon as i get one. if the frame isnt bent so bad, could the frame be heated up and bent back? and when that is done i could have gussets welded to the area that was effected. could this be a solution or is it just a waste of time. its not that im cheap, i just find it easier to do. i can get a whole blaster for 200 without the motor. i was planning on buying this anyway. but i was just wondering if it is possible to do. and i know it is hard to judge if you can do it without a picture but that problem will be solved once i get it.

thanks,
chris

EDIT:what year frames match up. as of now i dont know the year but ill get that information the same time i get the photo

if you heat up the frame to get it straight again , you should weld on gussets , heating the steel changes its properties and makes it more subject to crack , so its best to reinforce it for safety .

yes heating it up will only make it more brittle but if i was to weld gussets will it hold or is it just temporary?

i would replace the frame.. heating on the frame is a bad idea.. if youi= need a frame i'll hook you up with one for cheap.. PM me if your interested..

what about cutting out the bent part fabing up a new frame rail that was cut out and welding it back in with gussets?

its very well possible,..it just depends on how its approached. if the welds and gussets are done correctly it can be twice and strong then before...it its done by someone with no welding or fabbing experience...it may not turn out the way you want it to,...and could possibly be dangerous and may be easier to just buy a cheap frame and replace...comes down to how cocky you are about your welding skills. but i myself would definently just get a new frame, its alot less of a headake...ebay or craigslist them and you can find them real cheap...most on ebay usually dont get bid on.

anything before a 03 will work...03 and up will have a few diff mounting places and what not...like rear brake master cylinder brackets..i think theres another one as well thats a little diff

i wouldnt be welding it all. a family friend would be doing that. he used to do it full time. he would do it with a mig welder also if that makes a difference. if i was to get an 03 frame and up would it be inpossible to do or is it just harder. is there a way to put the 03 and up plastics on the older blasters

03 and up will def work...it'll just give you the bonus of being able to bolt on hydraulic rear brakes...something i wish i could of done. im pretty sure this is the only difference in the frames. maybe the hood mounting holes are a little different...but it can be done very easy. with little to NO modding at all
