I'm wanting to change my front shocks. I want to use Banshee or YFZ450 ones. My question is do I need to change to wider A-Arms? If so what ones should I get, and do the shocks bolt right up?

Thanks

Ditto, I'm about to dive into a full rebuild and I have the old front shocks from my Banshee. I'm also looking to widen the front stance. Any advice would be really helpful!:-/

If u both do a forum search there is a post with what mods are interchangeable and what mods are needed to make it work is in a post. I would copy and paste it for u but my cell don't let me search on this forum for done reason

Damn it noober was hoping someone would post that link so I could have it on my new phone

not only do you need extended a arms but i believe they need to be long travel to accommodate the yfz450

Thanks to all involved for that link. It'll be a huge help. Just want you to know; I did search and didn't find that page myself - it's always easier to find info when you know it's there. :-[

Thanks Again!

Sorry I couldn't get it for u I think I hit search 20 times before I tossed my phone. Thanks for the link noob

you can always dish out the $ for banshee arms, hubs, brake systems and they all bolt up it be cheaper to do that than the price of one a arm

ya u can back off all the preload and it will work it will just make it tall as u can sh*t or u can make custom mounts to make a 2 inch difference

even with the preload backed off, you are putting a lot of stress on your ball joints.
also the diamond j kit is garbage.
if you want it wider, do it correctly and get wider a-arms. if you want to use 450 shocks, you will need long travel a-arms for it to work correctly.
the blaster shock is like 14" the 450 shock is like 17"

i currently have "works" triple rate yfz450 front shocks on my sons bike with stock arms, prolly just temporary, i'll be getting lowering blocks from "CFM" to sit it down a bit and take that stress off the ball joints, i kinda like how it sits higher, he doesnt bottom out like mine does, it sits 2 inches higher at the frame, we ride in some really rough, rocky sh*t, and damn, with his trx250 rear shock it really has alot of travel and i was jumping it yesterday and it lands like on a cushion
