Yeah, been covered and covered.
I am not even sure I believe all the Banshee brake hub crap, think that is more a myth than anything else, the first person that probably did the swap used the shee hub and made it work.
I have a 2002, and run the shee axle. as for correction it is about 3 1/4" wider, much stronger and heavier duty over the blaster stocker, for sure.
I had centering issues with the shee brake hub lining up during initial install, as I made sure to purchase that too while planning the swap cause everyone said it was needed. Now I also have the AWK GSXR setup and ended up fabbing up my stock brake hub from the 2002 to work with the setup, so NOT TRUE that you NEED the newer hub, plenty of ways to use your existing and make it work, just have to think a little outside the box. Plus, good luck getting your stock rear brake rotor off your old stock hub to move to the shee, that thing is good and on there, and cheezy hex allen bolts are in your way, just not happening. You are better off fabbing your old to work or buying a newer blaster hub from an 03+ with the rotor on or doing a custom new rotor, etc, my $.02, tested!!! I:I
As for the axle carrier, shee axle swaps right in, if ya can get your old beat A$$ seized axle out without destroying your bearings, etc. If ya find a cheap shee axle go for it, GREAT upgrade over stock and save $$$'s on an after market of equal size/quality, etc. Hell, I even have a perfect shee brake hub, stripped and painted sunburst yellow that you can have for $25 shipped, never needed mine...
