I got my new ASR's and im trying to put them on, but i cannot get the ball joint(if thats its name??) out of the hub assembly. Ill post pics of what im talkiong about, give me 5 minutes. I need help and would like any suggestions on trying to get them out. Thanks!

here is a picture of what im talking about. I was thinking about ordering one of them, but i need it in 9 days. Do you know of any like sprays that might work? any technique to hitting it with a hammer?

absolutely,

not. A lot of auto parts stores carry a tool of a different brand made exactly like that. I bet you can get that sort of tool next day at 2 out of every 3 auto parts stores you walk into. Print out that page (or write down that part number) and call around asking locally who carries KD tools. Find one who does and ask them to get that number. If no one around carries KD tools, carry a printed copy of that page into your local auto parts store and ask if they can get one like that. It will pop that tie rod end (that's what it is BTW) in about 1/3 of a second.

If you absolutely come right down to the wire and have NOOO alternative other than a hammer, go to a hardware store and buy a jam nut or two in the same thread as the tie rod end and thread as many as you can get on until only about 1/8" is left between the very inside nut and the spindle itself and all of the rest of the threads are covered. That will keep the tie rod threads from bending when you hit it with a BFH. Support the spindle very carefully and then hit the outer most nut with sharp square hits with a Big Friggin Hammer until the taper pops out and closes the 1/8" gap up. Then unscrew all the nuts and push the tie rod end out.
