Ok I got it- Now how does the hub for the sprocket come off looks like it may screw off too? One more question there was a little plate that was on top of the sprocket connected two bolts should it go back on the new sprocket?

that hub will just slide off once you get the nuts off bro. just use a little bit of locktite on those nuts and eliminate those nasty metal things

I'm gonna replace my nuts- (haaa sounds funny) But I want to buy those locking ones. I had to use a huge channel locks as I didn't have a wrench big enough- and they got a little f'd up. i cannot get the Hub off I'm afaid of beating it off- That sick! But really it is on there good I'm soakin it till tomorrow. Thanks for the help! rep for ya.

no problem....glad i could help, if the nuts were really stuck the hub is probably rusted on too, just soak it really well with your favorite penetrating lube

Last time mine was stuck too, so I disconnected the carrier, put the hub on the left side so I wouldn't mess up threads, grabbed the carrier in my hand and banged the axle down onto a block of wood. After a few good whacks, it slid right out!!

Grease that mofo up as much as you can, go overboard with the grease.

This mother huncher will not come off, I bent the sprocket and hub it won't budge also split the piece of 4X4 i used to try and bang it off. It heated it also no luck so, now I need the whole assembly- axle, sprocket hub and carrier I prefer to get it off of someone on here if possible and not too expensive. Pm if ya got something. Thanks-Bob

Well i'm gonna try to cut the sprocket hub off without f'n up the axle, If not i guess i'll do a shee axle and carrier swap.

I got that biotch off. But cut into the axleX(. nI've been trying to pull axle out but it won't budge also hammered the sh*t out of it, i'm so discussed with this! I'm just gonna have to find a axle/carrier setup and try again. I think I might beat the sh*t out of my bro-in law for not takin care of this!

Was able to get the axle out and save the carrier! Whoo hoo. I have a question though. I read alot of post about packin the grease in there but the bearings are sealed, so what actally does the grease do besides lube the spacer? Just curious...

i greases my axle, every bit of it that is inside the carrier... mainly to help with ease of removale if its gotta come out again...

i hear ya on gettin mad. i put a durablue axle in mine yesterday.. lots of swearing, smokin cigs, torch and pb blaster... my axle nuts cam off just fine, i couldnt get the right hub nut off!! got it though..... couldnt get my axle out of the carrier ether... lots of pb and lube, ended up bashing the end of the axle up pretty bad,
i gave up on trying to get it out nicely so i ended up using a 18'' pipe wrnech as a hammer...

They can be a biotch. I just needed a bigger Hammer, went to work and got the 20lbs sledge and booyah out it came. Im love working on stuff but that was worse than puttin a tranfer case in the bronco!

Here's what Happened when i cut off the sprocket hubX(
